A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney for its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions, with a focus on renewable power and energy transition. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions. This role requires strong transactional experience, familiarity with energy regulatory matters, and the ability to lead complex diligence and deal management.

 

Duties:

  • Handle energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Draft primary deal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Lead complex diligence and deal management
  • Manage junior associates and internal specialist teams
  • Interact with clients and maintain high-quality work product
  • Stay updated on energy regulatory matters, project real property, and permitting requirements
  • Review and negotiate offtake agreements, interconnection agreements, and other commercial contracts

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in the project development and finance group
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Strong transactional experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters and permitting requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars

 

Skills:

  • Transactional experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead complex diligence and deal management
