A law firm is seeking a Labor Law Attorney for their Washington, DC office. The Labor Law Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of labor-related matters including NLRB proceedings, union elections, representation hearings, arbitrations, grievances, positive employee relations, and collective bargaining negotiations. The ideal candidate must possess excellent writing and oral advocacy skills, along with a strong academic background. Active law license in the applicable jurisdiction, or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar, is required.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in NLRB proceedings, union elections, and representation hearings.
  • Handle arbitrations and grievances related to labor disputes.
  • Provide legal counsel on positive employee relations and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor law issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and administrative agencies.

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of traditional labor law experience, preferably on the management side or with experience at the NLRB.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling NLRB proceedings, union elections, representation hearings, arbitrations, grievances, positive employee relations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Active law license in the applicable jurisdiction, or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the applicable Bar or eligibility for admission.
