A law firm in Atlanta is actively seeking a qualified Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Counsel to provide expert advice on various aspects of health and welfare plans, including compliance with regulations such as the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and negotiating service provider agreements and resolving issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise businesses on the design and implementation of health and welfare plans.
  • Provide proactive advice on compliance and litigation matters affecting employee benefit plans.
  • Draft and negotiate service provider agreements.
  • Resolve issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans.
  • Stay current on developments in employee benefits law.
  • Provide advice to businesses on all aspects of health and welfare plans, including wrap plans, cafeteria plans, and flexible benefits arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations such as the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21.
  • Draft and negotiate service provider agreements related to employee benefits.
  • Resolve issues relating to the administration of health and welfare plans.

 

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience providing proactive advice to employers on a wide range of compliance and litigation issues affecting health and welfare employee benefit plans.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • Significant experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Proven expertise in compliance with health and welfare plan regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to providing advice on compliance matters.
  • Ability to negotiate and draft service provider agreements effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring the administration of plans is in accordance with legal requirements.
