GEICO is seeking an experienced legal professional with a background in insurance products to serve as a Product Legal Advisor for their Personal Auto business unit. This is a hybrid role, with the individual expected to work 2-3 days onsite in Chevy Chase, MD.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Understand the key business objectives and provide legal advice to support the development of new products and refine existing ones.
- Coordinate with other parts of the legal department to provide support to the assigned business unit.
- Use legal knowledge to identify potential implications of business decisions and provide advice on various legal subject areas such as privacy, insurance compliance, consumer-protection laws, intellectual property, and contractual obligations.

Basic Qualifications:

- At least 5 years of experience as a legal advisor for products within Financial, Medical, or Auto services.
- Active law license to practice in the United States of America.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to quickly understand and advise on business plans and processes.
- Superb judgement in identifying and mitigating legal risks.
- Must be solution-oriented.
- Preferred experience in product counseling or as a product attorney.
- Demonstrated experience in solving business problems and advancing business metrics.
