Application for Law Student Internship Page 4 of 5 HR Form Rev May 2023 APPLICANT’S SIGNATURE Date Please return the completed application along with the supporting documents to the following address: Office of the Attorney General Attn: Human Resources PL-01, The Capitol Tallahassee, Florida 32399-1050 Or via email to Application for Law Student Internship Page 5 of 5 HR Form Rev May 2023 Organization: Office of the Attorney General Job Title: Law Student Intern Experience: 2nd or 3rd year law student Salary: Unpaid, academic credit available H1: Florida Attorney General's Internship Program H2: Statewide Prosecution (J,L,M,My,O,Ta,W) - The Office of Statewide Prosecution is responsible for prosecuting complex, organized criminal activity that impacts multiple judicial circuits in Florida. - This office works closely with state and federal agencies to coordinate the prosecution of multi-circuit violations of state law. - The Attorney General serves as the attorney for the State of Florida and as a member of the Florida Cabinet. - The internship program offers law students the opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal field and contribute to meaningful work towards their degree. - Internships are available for academic credit or through participation in law school sponsored programs. - Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited ABA law school and able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week. - The number and locations of internships vary based on agency need and opportunity. - Interested students should apply early as applications are accepted on a rolling basis. - Application deadlines: Fall (June 30), Spring (September 30), Summer (January 31) - Applicants must provide a resume, letter from advisor or university, and official transcript (if not available online). - 2nd and 3rd year law students will be expected to provide a writing sample at the time of interview if selected. - The internship is unpaid, but academic credit is available. - Applicants must be eligible to receive academic credit or participate in a law school sponsored program. - The OAG offers internships in various divisions, including Antitrust, Capital Appeals, Civil Legal Services, Civil Litigation, Criminal Appeals, Consumer Protection, Cyber Fraud Unit, Executive Staff, Medicaid Fraud Control, and Statewide Prosecution. - Applicants must rank their top 3 choices for internships in order of preference. - Interns must report adult criminal history information regardless of whether records have been sealed or expunged. - A background check will be conducted on the FCIC/NCIC database. - The internship is open to . citizens or those legally authorized to work in the . - Applicants with criminal charges or convictions may still be considered based on the nature, severity, and date of the offense in relation to the internship. - Applicants must certify that all information provided is true and accurate. - Completed applications and supporting documents should be submitted to the Office of the Attorney General via email or mail.
