Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney with 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in commercial loan transactions, focusing on complex commercial real estate deals. The candidate should be well-versed in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan documents, managing legal due diligence, and closing transactions. Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or other multifamily lenders, as well as syndicated credit facilities, is highly desirable.

Job Details:

  • Represent borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in commercial loan transactions.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate loan documents, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct legal due diligence, analyzing organizational documents, ownership structure, title, survey, zoning, leases, and legal opinions.
  • Manage and close complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or other multifamily lenders, and/or syndicated credit facilities is a plus.
  • Work on loans secured by multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and/or hotels.
  • Train and manage junior associates and paralegals within the real estate finance practice.
  • Prior law firm experience is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Maintain an outstanding academic record.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in real estate finance, focusing on commercial loan transactions.
  • Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to and in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in managing legal due diligence processes.
  • Familiarity with multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and hotel transactions.
  • Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or syndicated credit facilities is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train and manage junior associates and paralegals.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to handle complex transactions.

Education:

  • Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
