A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Discovery Attorney to play a crucial role in the management of document review, analysis, and production across various practice areas. The ideal candidate will provide guidance on discovery processes, supervise project attorneys and paralegals, and collaborate with partners and associates to respond to discovery requests. A . from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in the District of Columbia Bar is required.

 

Job Details:

  • Manage document review, analysis, and production for litigation, antitrust, enforcement, securities, and bankruptcy practice areas.
  • Supervise and guide project attorneys, paralegals, and other office personnel as needed.
  • Handle all stages of discovery projects, including document preservation, collection, review, and preparation for depositions or interviews.
  • Provide guidance on discovery processes and assist in responding to discovery requests.
  • Draft ESI protocols, protective orders, review protocols, and other related documents.
  • Conduct industry research related to document requests.
  • Develop plans and procedures for document collection, review, and production.
  • Train and direct paralegals, project attorneys, and contract attorneys.
  • Manage discovery vendors and collaborate with clients' discovery attorneys and IT personnel.
  • Work with the US Litigation Technology Group and stay informed about discovery technology, including review platforms and AI/TAR tools.
  • Collaborate with the firm's global discovery groups in New York, Washington DC, Brussels, and London.
  • Review documents for responsiveness and privilege.
  • Assist in other matters not related to discovery when needed.

 

Requirements:

  • . from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member of the District of Columbia Bar.
  • Prior experience in a litigation practice, especially complex, multi-party litigation.
  • Skills:
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Technical skills related to discovery technology.
