## Privacy Cybersecurity Attorney Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is seeking a Mid to Senior-Level Associate or Senior Counsel with at least five years' experience specifically handling privacy and cybersecurity issues to help grow its Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. The attorney can be located in any of our offices. ### Job Description As a Privacy Cybersecurity Attorney, you will provide counsel to clients on a wide variety of privacy and data security matters. You will be responsible for: * Data breach prevention and risk-mitigation counseling, including tabletop design and delivery * Data breach investigation and response counseling * In-depth knowledge regulatory framework for key international, federal and state privacy laws (including requirements of all effective and pending state consumer data privacy laws, PCI-DSS, GLBA, HIPAA, and GDPR); * Implementation of key components of privacy and security compliance programs * Negotiation of complex information technology, licensing and outsourcing contacts, including privacy and data security clauses and key risk allocation issues such as indemnification and limitation on liability; * Advising clients in all industries on a wide variety of privacy and data security matters; * Advising on data governance strategies (retention, use policies, inventories, mapping); * Addressing privacy and cybersecurity due diligence issues in M&A transactions; * Drafting company terms of service and website privacy policies * Reviewing, updating or drafting security policies; ### Job Requirements The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: * . from an ABA accredited law school * Excellent academic credentials * At least 5 years' experience handling privacy and cybersecurity issues * Privacy professional certification preferred but not required * Passion for staying up to date about the latest technology driven privacy and cybersecurity issues and trends * Ability to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position evolves and Firm needs change * Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines * Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team * Ability to develop relationships and foster teamwork at all levels of the Firm * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion * Excellent drafting and negotiation skills * Ability and confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions * Agility to respond to unexpected challenges, including proactively developing innovative solutions to complex problems while maintaining a professional demeanor * Ability to maintain composure and demonstrate good judgment * Valid authorization to work in the . ### Salary & Benefits Michael Best & Friedrich LLP offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards package that provides a variety of resources designed to enhance its employees’ overall well-being, both at work and at home.
