The United States Trustee Program (USTP) is seeking law students to join their team as volunteers for Fall 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for second- and third-year law students who are interested in bankruptcy, litigation, administrative law, policy, and legislation. As a volunteer, you will have the chance to work on a variety of projects and gain valuable experience in the field.

Job Description:
- Executive Office for . Trustees (EOUST) Law Interns will work in the USTP headquarters in Washington, DC.
- Field Office Law Interns will work in one of the 89 field offices located throughout the country.
- Both positions offer the opportunity to work directly with attorneys and senior leadership on a variety of bankruptcy-related projects.
- Interns may also assist in representing the USTP in different capacities, such as preparing speeches and presentations for the public.

Executive Office for . Trustees (EOUST) Law Interns:
- Interns will work with either the Director or the Deputy Director for Field Operations.
- The Director oversees the USTP's 21 regions and 89 field offices and is responsible for leading the USTP and implementing policies to further their objectives.
- The Deputy Director for Field Operations provides executive level direction and guidance to United States Trustees and leads the Office of Oversight and the Office of Criminal Enforcement.

Field Office Law Interns:
- Interns will assist attorneys with various tasks related to bankruptcy cases, including conducting legal research, attending bankruptcy hearings, and reviewing documents.
- Internships may be available for academic credit, as determined by the individual field office.

Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will be second- and third-year law students with excellent research and writing skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work as part of a team.
- Candidates must also be committed to fairness and integrity in the administration of the bankruptcy system.
