A law firm is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be able to practice in all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters with a national and international client base.

Job Overview:

  • Practice in all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters.
  • Represent clients in complex commercial litigation such as consumer class actions, antitrust litigation, merger and acquisition litigation, securities and shareholder litigation, corporate governance disputes, real estate financing and development disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
  • Experience in representing clients in connection with government investigations is preferred.
  • Utilize prior experience in litigation-based practice with particular emphasis on litigation procedures, including the discovery process and e-discovery.
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.

Duties:

  • Handle all phases of litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Participate in client meetings and case strategy sessions.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on case management and strategy.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in a litigation-based practice.
  • Prior experience in complex commercial litigation is preferred.
  • Experience with litigation procedures, including the discovery process and e-discovery.
  • Solid background and prior experience in complex commercial litigation such as consumer class actions, antitrust litigation, merger and acquisition litigation, securities and shareholder litigation, corporate governance disputes, healthcare, and pharmaceutical litigation, qui tam/False Claims Act litigation, real estate financing and development disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
  • Deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience is a plus.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Active membership in the Washington, DC Bar.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Washington, DC Bar.
