Job Summary:

3M is seeking a Global Technology Legal Director and Associate General Counsel for the Legal Affairs organization located in Maplewood, MN. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal counsel and support to the IT and Legal Affairs departments on technology-related matters and initiatives
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of technology contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Advise on data privacy and security issues for technology contracts and related matters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and provide strategic counsel on technology initiatives
- Stay up-to-date on emerging legal trends in technology and contribute to the development of company information policies and practices
- Manage and resolve technology-related disputes, working closely with key stakeholders and external counsel when necessary
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making on technology-related projects
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs on technology legal matters
- Coordinate with the Sourcing organization and Sourcing counsels on strategic IT sourcing initiatives
- Create and provide training on data protection playbooks, guidelines, and self-service tools

Qualifications:

- Active bar membership preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in technology law in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to provide practical legal advice and manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced business environment
- Experience negotiating complex global technology contracts preferred
- German language fluency preferred
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures preferred
- Understanding of and experience in advising clients in a diversified business environment
- Demonstrated ability to balance business needs, compliance obligations, and reputational risks in an objective, practical way
- Reputation for integrity and ability to balance business partnership with independent judgment

Salary Information:

- Expected compensation range of $215,577 - $263,483, including base pay and variable incentive pay
- Range may vary based on relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience
- Eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, life insurance, and retirement benefits

Travel Requirements:

- Up to 20% domestic travel may be required
