Position Summary:

- IPA, an international non-profit, is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to provide strategic and task oriented legal support for our global operations.
- This position offers the opportunity to work remotely or in our Washington, DC office on a hybrid schedule.
- The Legal Counsel will primarily handle contract reviews and negotiations, as well as provide support and advice on legal and technical matters related to IPA's operations.
- Their role will also involve ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, and conducting internal investigations when necessary.

Responsibilities:

- Draft, negotiate, and interpret various legal agreements.
- Work with outside counsel to support IPA's country programs and operations.
- Provide advice and counsel on data privacy laws, government regulations, and employment laws.
- Assist with the implementation of IPA's compliance program and conduct internal investigations, if needed.
- Support the legal registration of new country offices and ensure global legal compliance.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on various areas of law.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

- 0-3 years of experience.
- . degree and admission to the Connecticut, New York, or Washington DC bar.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with the ability to mentor and train others.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and good judgment.
- Experience in USAID rules and regulations, employment law, data privacy laws, and contract drafting and negotiations is a plus.

Preferred:

- Fluency in Spanish or French is preferred.
