Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative tax manager with experience in federal tax issues, accounting for income taxes, tax restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Responsible for providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to clients in the insurance and financial services industries.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, manage tax engagement teams, and access support from specialist teams.
- Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for team development and motivation.
- Consult with other service lines and peers to address tax issues and meet organizational objectives.
- Stay abreast of trends and developments in the insurance industry.
- Deliver professional and timely services to internal and external customers.

- Deloitte tax consultants offer a full range of tax services to clients.
- Collaborative team environment with specialized knowledge and experience to help clients navigate complex tax and financial reporting issues.
- Offer insights into business practices and procedures to help clients make informed decisions.

Qualifications:

- Required:
- Ability to work in a hybrid model (2-3 days in person) and travel up to 25%.
- 5+ years of experience in federal taxation.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Experience managing client relationships and engagement teams.
- Proficient in tax code and regulations, GAAP, SSAP, ASC 740, and SSAP 101.
- Technologically inclined and able to articulate complex tax issues in a simplified manner.
- Active accreditation such as CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP.
- Preferred:
- Advanced degree in tax, JD, or LLM.
- Previous experience with Big 4 or large CPA firms.
- Experience in the insurance industry and proficiency with SSAP 101.
