Intuitive is looking for a Sr Contract Negotiator Digital Data to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role is responsible for driving Intuitive's commercial contracting function and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance while mitigating risk. The ideal candidate will have a law degree and at least 4 years of experience with commercial contracts. They should also have strong contract drafting and negotiation skills and be able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare, review, and negotiate a high volume and variety of highly complex contracts for the placement of Intuitive's products and services, as well as miscellaneous legal agreements connected to commercial activities.
- Act as legal lead for digital, data, and privacy agreements, along with Business Associate Agreements as required under HIPAA.
- Assist in the resolution of contract disputes and lead discussions aimed at finding solutions with customers, financing institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct legal analysis and provide guidance on contractual matters, regulatory compliance, risk assessment and mitigation, and other legal issues related to the medical device industry.
- Represent department as subject matter expert for complex legal and contracting issues and projects.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments in the medical device industry and provide recommendations and guidance based on industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, provide legal advice, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Identify, assess, and provide support on potential legal risks in contracts and propose strategies to mitigate them effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies in contract negotiations and daily activities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between legal requirements and business objectives.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting to execution and termination, ensuring timely renewal, amendments, and compliance.
- Supervise, mentor, and assist with training and developing junior members of the Contracts team.
- Participate in process and policy development regarding commercial contracts.

Qualifications:

- Law degree (JD) from an accredited law school or equivalent legal experience.
- Minimum 4+ years' experience with commercial contracts, or equivalent transferrable skillset from in-house or law firm setting.
- Working knowledge of standard legal terms and conditions, commercial contracting terms, HIPAA, data security, and/or data privacy regulations.
- Legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interest in commercial transactions and business decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex legal issues in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver, self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously without missing deadlines.

- Region 1: $129,100 USD - $185,700 USD
- Region 2: $109,700 USD - $157,900 USD

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who do not reside, or plan to reside, in certain states.
