Associate General Counsel - Full Time - Days - Memorial Healthcare System Overview: Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team. This position will provide support for the General Counsel and the organization on a variety of legal matters. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives - Provide legal direction and supervision on organization's strategic initiatives, deals, and projects - Negotiate with outside parties on regulatory and legal disputes, including settlements - Monitor and manage outside counsel and outside legal budgets - Provide coaching and mentoring to junior attorneys - Conduct in-house training sessions for medical and other professional staff and employees regarding relevant legal issues - Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and develop strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk - Serve as a liaison and cultivate relationships between the Legal Department and executive leadership, management, outside counsel, and governmental/regulatory agencies - Serve as a legal representative for the organization in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials and other outside legal matters - Act as a subject matter expert in various substantive legal areas - Advise identified executives and business unit leaders Qualifications: - Doctor of Jurisprudence from an accredited law school - State Bar License (STATE BAR) - State of Florida (FL) - Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney - Strong academic credentials and verbal/written communication skills - Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic and high level of integrity and ethics - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently - Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action quickly - Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: - Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use computer for extended periods of time - May be required to bend, climb, kneel, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds - May be exposed to dust and hazardous noise - May be required to work in a stressful environment Shift: Full-time, days Company Overview: Memorial Healthcare System is a leading healthcare provider in South Florida, dedicated to improving the health, well-being, and quality of life for the people entrusted to our care.
