As a Senior Legal Counsel at Philips, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Government Solutions and Sales business. This is a full-time position located in Washington, DC. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and analysis on a wide range of subjects, including cybersecurity, government contracts, and compliance. You will also be responsible for negotiating contracts, maintaining an in-house bid protest practice, and providing training to sales and legal personnel on government contract and compliance-related topics. The ideal candidate for this role will have a . degree, admission to a state bar, and at least 10 years of in-house or law firm experience with a focus on government procurement. Senior Legal Counsel Responsibilities: - Provide legal advice and analysis to Government Solutions and Sales business on various compliance areas, such as cybersecurity and government contracts. - Negotiate contracts and subcontracts for Philips Research. - Maintain an in-house bid protest practice. - Develop and deliver training materials on government contract and compliance-related topics to sales and legal personnel. - Support federal, state, and local deals for government sales and contract managers. - Stay up-to-date on changes and updates in compliance areas by the new administration. - Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, VAARs, and other agency supplements. - Analyze issues related to GSA Schedule contracts and respond to solicitations. - Ensure compliance with Buy American and Trade Agreements Act. - Provide support for commercial and transactional activities, including drafting and negotiating contracts. - Coordinate legal and corporate policy support for complex transactions. Qualifications: - . degree from an accredited . law school and admission to a state bar. - 10+ years of in-house or law firm experience with a focus on government procurement. - Extensive background in acquisitions conducted by federal and state agencies. - Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, VAARs, and other agency supplements. - Strong negotiation and drafting skills in complex corporate and commercial transactions. - Experience with GSA Schedule contracts, including those administered by the VA. - Knowledge of commercial item contracting, MBE/SBE/WBE subcontracting, cost-reimbursement contracting, teaming agreements, and bid protests.
