A law firm in Omaha is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to engage in meaningful litigation and mediation work, contributing to the firm's growth. The ideal candidate will focus on family law litigation, attend hearings, handle various case types, and maintain exceptional client interactions while adhering to firm processes and procedures.

 

Job Duties:

  • Engage in family law litigation and mediation work, contributing to firm growth.
  • Participate in mediations and attend hearings for assigned cases.
  • Provide coverage for other attorneys as needed.
  • Handle a variety of case types beyond family law as per firm needs.
  • Maintain client cases using Clio and manage files on the firm's SharePoint Drive.
  • Conduct client intake, retention, and provide positive interactions throughout case progression.
  • Meet all court requirements and manage case standards.
  • Review billing statements monthly and communicate with clients regarding outstanding invoices.
  • Maintain excellent written and oral communication with clients and within the firm.
  • Collaborate with administrator to maintain current payment status on client accounts.
  • Contribute to the firm's social media, blog, and newsletter content.
  • Active status with the Nebraska State Bar and commitment to collaborative law principles.

 

Requirements:

  • Active status with the Nebraska State Bar.
  • Proficiency with Nebraska standards for family law.
  • Ability to work set hours totaling around 40-45 hours per week.
  • Minimum billing of 20 hours/week for the first 60 days, increasing thereafter.
  • Participation in firm meetings and activities.
  • Completion of daily billing time through Clio and maintenance of an accurate calendar.
  • Commitment to collaborative law principles.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

  • Notary certification/renewal (preferred).
  • Membership to the Nebraska and Omaha Bar Associations.

 

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and mediation skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with legal software such as Clio.
  • Ability to handle various case types effectively.
  • Commitment to client satisfaction and firm growth.
