Associate General Counsel, Cybersecurity Law and Investigations - Protecting Users and Advancing Technology at Meta

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join its Central Investigations & Cybersecurity team. This role will involve working closely with investigative teams to identify and prevent harm while safeguarding the privacy and safety of Meta's users. The successful candidate will also collaborate with other teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to integrity and security challenges. This is a unique opportunity to work on novel and high-profile issues in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will provide legal counsel and support to Meta's security and integrity teams during investigations and incident response. You will also advise on information sharing efforts and ensure that investigations are conducted and documented appropriately to minimize risks and protect user privacy. Additionally, you will work with business and engineering teams to design and implement privacy and security solutions related to integrity and investigations. This may include advising on user data disclosure and security issues in the United States and globally.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to Meta's security and integrity teams during investigations and incident response
- Advise on information sharing efforts and ensure investigations are conducted and documented appropriately to minimize risks and protect user privacy
- Work with business and engineering teams to design and implement innovative privacy and security solutions
- Advise on user data disclosure and security issues in the United States and globally
- Investigate on-platform abuse, including terrorism, child safety, and other threats
- Collaborate with business partners on user data and safety matters
- Conduct after-action reviews and remediate security risks in collaboration with integrity teams

Qualifications:
- . (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one . state bar
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm and/or in-house
- Experience advising on data protection, privacy, or matters involving the Stored Communications Act
- Experience in drafting and/or executing legal documents
- Experience giving presentations to stakeholders
- Prior experience litigating criminal cases and/or advising on matters involving engagement with law enforcement agencies

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a prosecutor investigating national security matters, child safety, terrorism, or other serious crimes
- Crisis management experience
- Technical knowledge related to online investigations
- Experience working on policy issues related to technical investigations, online abuse, and/or privacy
- Fluency in multiple languages

Compensation:
Meta offers competitive compensation packages, with individual pay determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base salary for this role ranges from $198,000/year to $266,000/year, with additional bonuses, equity, and benefits included. Learn more about benefits at Meta.
