A law firm in Minneapolis is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney with significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions, particularly in renewable power and energy transition projects. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will play a key role in transactional matters involving sponsors, investors, developers, and lenders in the energy sector. The role requires expertise in energy regulatory matters, project real property, permitting requirements, and commercial agreements.

 

Duties:

  • Draft primary deal documents such as purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements, financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Lead complex diligence processes and manage deal execution
  • Interact directly with clients and manage client relationships
  • Supervise junior associates and internal specialist teams
  • Provide guidance on energy regulatory compliance and permitting requirements
  • Negotiate offtake agreements, interconnection agreements, and other commercial contracts

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in project development and finance transactions
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Strong understanding of energy project finance and development
  • Experience in renewable energy projects preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Capacity to handle significant responsibility and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting complex legal documents
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior associates
