Job Description

- Seeking an Immigration Staff Attorney at LASBC's Plantation office
- Represent unaccompanied minors, abused or neglected non-citizen minors, immigrant children not living with their parents, asylum seekers, and special immigrant juvenile status applicants before various agencies
- Cross-training opportunities in other areas of immigration law
- Provide individual consultations and know-your-rights presentations to immigrant communities
- Engage with allied community organizations and assist with grant and billing reports

Qualifications

- Active membership in a State Bar (does not have to be Florida)
- . degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- No experience necessary, willing to train
- Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required
- Empathy and sensitivity towards children who have experienced trauma
- Passion for serving vulnerable populations
- Ability to handle a large caseload in a high-stress environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to social, economic, and racial justice
- Fluency in Spanish or another language a plus

Salary and Benefits

- Full-time exempt position with a competitive salary starting at $65,000
- Salary may be significantly higher based on years of experience
