Corporate Tax Manager

As the Corporate Tax Manager at Grant Thornton, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tax projects, including business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. You will be a valued member of our Corporate Tax Solutions Family, with the primary tax relationship with clients. In this role, you will collaborate with other team members and specialists in our tax practice to support all areas of the client's tax functions. With our tools, technology, and support, you will be empowered to deliver quality work and excel in your career.

Responsibilities:

• Manage client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, and completing tax projects within budget.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff members, assessing their performance and providing in-charge support as needed.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to sell services to existing and potential clients.
• Review tax returns prepared by staff and make recommendations for accuracy and tax savings opportunities.
• Conduct primary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements.
• Research and consult on various tax matters and utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns.
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Gain an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives to provide effective tax services.
• Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
• Adhere to professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 4-7 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience.
• CPA or JD/active law license required.
• Experience in public accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations.
• Working knowledge of broad-based statutory income tax compliance and consulting.
• Exceptional client service, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with OneSource Tax Provision preferred.
• Strong teamwork, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Salary Information:

The base salary range for this position in the firm's San Jose and San Francisco, CA offices is between $124,200 - $186,300.
