A law firm based in Washington, DC is seeking a Private Equity Resource Attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US PE corporate/transactional practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with the M&A resource attorney and knowledge management team to support the Private Equity (PE) group in various capacities, including document drafting, knowledge management, legal research, and client development. The Private Equity Resource Attorney will play a critical role in supporting the PE group's operations by assisting with document preparation, maintaining internal resources, monitoring legal developments, coordinating with the legal education and marketing teams, and collaborating with other practice groups. This role requires strong knowledge of private equity transactions, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate with the M&A resource attorney and knowledge management team to assist with M&A/PE data and experience input and maintenance
  • Prepare drafts or revise existing precedent documents for the PE group
  • Curate and organize the PE group's forms, precedents, and other know-how
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relative to PE practice and the firm's core industry verticals
  • Develop and maintain the internal landing page for the PE group
  • Coordinate with the firm's legal education team to prepare content for associate trainings and firmwide training efforts
  • Work closely with the PE/M&A marketing team to strategize on firm PE promotion and assist with content creation for pitches and teach-ins
  • Collaborate with the quantitative analyst group on matters specific to PE funds and transactions
  • Assist resource attorneys in other practice groups on best practices and overlapping initiatives
  • Field day-to-day requests from attorneys for precedents, templates, and other resources
  • Participate in resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation projects

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US PE corporate/transactional practice
  • Mastery of substantive areas of practice undertaken by the Private Equity practice group
  • Knowledge of the industries regularly advised by the firm

 

Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

  • Strong drafting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills
  • Strong intellectual ability, interpersonal, and technical skills
  • Organizational and time management skills; attention to detail
