Associate General Counsel, Non-Profit Compliance & Advocacy - Provide legal advice and guidance to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and its affiliated organizations on non-profit tax compliance, advocacy and political work, fundraising, and corporate governance - Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for exempt organizations, including tax, campaign finance, lobbying, and ethics rules - Educate and train staff on legal risks and obligations related to non-profit tax law, advocacy and political law, fundraising, and corporate governance - Participate in defining and developing corporate policies and procedures - Select, retain, manage, and oversee outside counsel as needed - Assist with major transactions and programs, including contract negotiation and review - Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to build effective partnerships and mitigate risk Requirements: - Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited . law school - Admitted to practice in New York or Washington, DC - Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with expertise in not-for-profit corporate and tax matters - In-house counsel or regulatory experience preferred - Knowledge of international non-profit issues a plus - Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills - Ability to provide sound business advice and legal counsel to all levels of the organization - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders - Agility, adaptability, and practicality in providing legal advice - Commitment to providing timely and professional legal services - Excellent judgment and risk analysis abilities - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment - Collaborative and client-focused mindset - Knowledge of and sensitivity to diversity and inclusion in the workplace Salary: - $160,000 - $175,000 per year - Generous vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays - Individual/family medical, dental, and vision benefits - Life insurance, short/long term disability, and paid family leave - 401k with company match - Optional Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Transportation/Commuter accounts Work Schedule: - Hybrid schedule for roles denoted as NYC, DC, or both, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office - Onsite roles require full-time in-office work or 5 days per week in the office Planned Parenthood is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
