Job Description

A reputed firm is seeking a VP, Public Policy to provide public policy counsel and develop policy position and strategies to support advocacy to Members of Congress and the Executive Branch. The successful candidate should have exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, ability to understand and analyze complex legal and policy issues, and ability to think strategically and to develop effective solutions to problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with NAB Board Members, DC Representatives of NAB Member Companies, and non-broadcast stakeholders to formulate policy positions and strategy to advance the interests of NAB.
• Draft internal communications to other NAB departments and NAB member companies, including written summaries of policy issues, written updates on legislative or political strategy, and power point presentations.
• Draft advocacy documents including talking points, issue sheets, and white papers to advance broadcast policy positions.
• Draft and redline legislative text and related legislative materials.
• Support congressional and executive branch hearing preparation as needed, including drafting of witness testimony, mock questions, and relevant issues papers.
• Support Government Relations team in meeting with key members of Congress, the Administration, and their staffs on substantive elements of broadcast policy issues.
• Coordinate with advocacy team in cultivating third party groups to complement NAB advocacy.
