THE LEGAL TEAM

- Small and passionate team focused on EdTech, responsible tech for good, privacy, and regulations

THE ROLE

- Provide broad-based transaction support for school district sales and marketing programs
- Collaborate with legal team and business partners
- Report to Associate General Counsel

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Support District Sales team by preparing, reviewing, and negotiating school contracts, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
- Improve Sales process for efficiency and scalability
- Address legal and compliance aspects of RFP submissions
- Contribute to foundational improvements, such as templates, negotiation playbooks, and training materials
- Identify use cases for repeatable processes and implement them
- Act as business partner to functional teams within Khan Academy
- Review and negotiate commercial and vendor agreements
- Handle other legal matters as needed

WHAT YOU BRING

- JD from . accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing of at least one state bar
- 4-6 years of legal experience, preferably in-house at SaaS, EdTech, or other tech organization
- Experience with SaaS agreements, regulatory compliance, and risk management
- Strong business judgment and ability to build relationships across a company
- Commitment to understanding and complying with student data privacy regulations

COMPENSATION

- Target salary range: $143,200 - $179,000 USD
- Salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data
- Exceptional performers can make well above this range
- Additional incentives provided as part of total rewards package
