Summary:
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team as an Open Records Research Specialist III. The selected applicant will receive extensive training in administrative law and legal research and writing, working directly with a senior attorney to gain experience in interpreting and applying the Public Information Act. This position offers excellent benefits and opportunities for growth within the OAG, with the potential for promotion to an Assistant Attorney General I and a retention bonus contract after one year of successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research, draft, edit and revise legal opinions and rulings
- Maintain relevant knowledge and attend work regularly
- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information
- Comply with agency policies and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, supervisors, and support staff

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited law school with a .
- Taken the Texas state bar exam
- Knowledge of laws and legal principles and practices
- Strong computer skills and effective communication skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a professional environment
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and travel when required

Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney in the State of Texas
- Experience with the Public Information Act and administrative law
- Fluency in Spanish
