Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of insurance coverage litigation, including drafting complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents. They will conduct legal research, write memoranda, and work closely with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel. The role requires analyzing insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, with an emphasis on drafting coverage opinions or other coverage analyses.

Duties:

  • Drafting complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
  • Handling all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal where relevant
  • Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
  • Conducting, propounding, and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
  • Working with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel
  • Analyzing insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions or other coverage analyses

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience, including insurance coverage litigation experience
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic and dedication
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, adversaries, and courts
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and business development skills
  • Embraces teamwork and values collaboration

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC (or eligibility for admission)
