Salary Information: The expected compensation range for this position is $215,577 - $263,483, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.

Full job description:

3M is currently seeking a Global Technology Legal Director and Associate General Counsel to join their team of innovative 3Mers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals from around the world and make an impact in the world of technology.

As the Technology Counsel, you will primarily support and counsel the IT and Legal Affairs organizations on technology-related matters and initiatives. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of technology contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will also provide advice on data privacy and security issues and stay updated on emerging legal trends in technology.

In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and teams to assess legal risks and provide strategic counsel on technology initiatives. You will also manage and resolve technology-related disputes and conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making on technology projects.

To be successful in this role, 3M requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and 8+ years of experience with a focus on technology law in a private, public, government, or military environment. You must also have strong negotiation and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in German language and experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures is a plus.
