Your role as Legal Counsel, Marketing:

- Integral part of the Legal Team at Reckitt in Parsippany, NJ
- Partner with marketing and product development teams in all aspects of product innovation, development, claims generation, and substantiation
- Work cross-functionally with regulatory, medical, R&D, and science teams to ensure compliance with regulations and legal standards
- Cover both health product brands and hygiene product brands

Your responsibilities:

- Counsel and advise marketing team on labeling and marketing content, including website posts, online campaigns, promotions, sweepstakes, and press releases
- Review and advise on consumer-facing sales and marketing materials
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements
- Ensure compliance with trademark, copyright, consumer protection, and advertising laws
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders
- Support advertising challenges with competitors, NAD, and networks
- Negotiate and manage pre-litigation matters, threats of legal actions, and competitor challenges

Qualifications:

- Active bar license in NY/NJ
- Experience in marketing and advertising law
- Experience in-house in Consumer Products; science background
- 5+ years of experience working in Marketing & Advertising law, either at a firm or in-house
- Experience working independently and cross-functionally, with a minimum of administrative support
- Experience taking on complex projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Member in good standing with at least one . state bar and the ability to serve as in-house counsel in ; Active bar license in NY/NJ preferred
- Quick thinking, with the ability to interface effectively with senior management and solve problems in real-time
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong teamwork and influencing skills
- Experience working globally and in a matrix organization is a plus

Preferred Experience:

- Has worked directly in-house and partnered with a marketing team
- Experience reviewing website content, online campaigns, promotions, sweepstakes, and press releases to ensure compliance with marketing & advertising laws
- Experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts as they relate to marketing and advertising
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with highly demanding internal clients and other stakeholders
- Flexible thinking and pragmatic problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
