A law firm in Washington, . is seeking a qualified Debt and Leveraged Finance Counsel or Senior Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will handle various debt and finance transactions, primarily focusing on borrower representation, and will ideally possess experience with out-of-court insolvency or restructuring transactions.

 

Job Overview:

  • Work on a diverse range of debt and finance transactions, including syndicated credit facilities, asset-based loan facilities, working capital facilities, subordinated loans, equipment leasing facilities, and acquisition financings.
  • Represent borrowers in a variety of debt transactions with a focus on leveraged and banking finance.

 

Duties:

  • Negotiate and draft loan agreements, credit facilities, and related transactional documents.
  • Provide legal counsel on debt financing structures and terms.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and risk assessments.
  • Advise clients on insolvency and restructuring matters.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar.
  • 5-8 years of leveraged/banking finance experience with a focus on borrower representation.
  • Strong understanding of debt financing transactions and legal principles.
  • Experience with out-of-court insolvency or restructuring transactions is desirable.
  • Superior academic credentials.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the District of Columbia Bar.
