The Tax Senior Manager - Credits & Incentives position is a high-level role within Deloitte's Global Investment & Innovation Incentives practice. This position is responsible for managing federal credits and incentives opportunities for clients in a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in core federal tax compliance, as well as experience with renewable energy, research and development, and other federal credits and incentives. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-value engagements for some of the world's largest companies, as well as the chance to work with a highly-experienced team and utilize standardized approaches and optimization tools. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, engineering, technology, or a related field, as well as 8+ years of experience in core federal tax compliance. A variety of active accreditations are also desired, including a CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, Project Management Professional, Chartered Financial Advisor, or Professional Engineer. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. This position may require travel up to 25% of the time. Key Responsibilities: - Manage federal credits and incentives opportunities including Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentive service offerings - Analyze and document tax credit eligibility, perform credit calculations, and evaluate entity structuring and deal terms for tax credit investments - Serve as the lead point-of-contact for client personnel with both tax and technical backgrounds - Develop, mentor, and motivate Consultants and Senior Consultants, providing counseling and career guidance - Leverage extensive technical skills to solve complex issues in a specific industry or service offering - Participate in engagement strategic planning initiatives - Travel up to 25% of the time, based on the work and clients served Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, engineering, technology, or related field - 8+ years' experience in core federal tax compliance - One of the following active accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, Project Management Professional, Chartered Financial Advisor, Professional Engineer - Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires in-person co-location 2 - 3 days per week - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, based on the work and clients served Preferred Qualifications: - Big 4 or large CPA firm experience - Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, LLM, or JD - Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities - Demonstrated effective research, and verbal and written communication skills - Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives - Ability to participate in all aspects of engagement strategic planning initiatives - Strong project management and organizational skills Compensation: - The disclosed wage range for this role is $153,860 to $285,740, taking into account factors such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. - Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules and regulations.
