Position: Tax Manager - Financial Services, Hedge Fund Tax (East Region City Locations) Department: Tax Business Tax Services Experience: 5+ years in tax planning or preparing/ reviewing client work papers and income tax returns Job Summary: The Tax Manager will be responsible for identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analyses for a variety of hedge fund clients and their affiliates. This role requires a strong understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, and related tax adjustments, as well as experience with aggregate allocations, trader vs. investor determination, and federal, international, and state investor reporting. The Tax Manager will also be responsible for reviewing tax workpapers, allocations, and returns, as well as conducting research and providing tax planning advice with the support of our Washington National Tax group. This role involves building relationships with clients, coordinating and communicating with client contacts, and supervising and mentoring staff members. Key Responsibilities: - Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analyses for hedge fund clients and their affiliates - Review tax workpapers, allocations, and returns - Conduct research and provide tax planning advice with support from our Washington National Tax group - Build relationships with clients and coordinate and communicate with client contacts - Train, mentor, and supervise staff members - Attend national and sector-specific training for personal development Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in tax planning or preparing/reviewing client work papers and income tax returns - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field - Strong understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, and related tax adjustments - Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment - Project management experience, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to travel up to 25% based on the work and clients served - Active CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm - Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting Salary Information: The wage range for this role is $84,980 to $193,440, taking into account various factors such as skills, experience, and certifications. Additionally, eligible individuals may participate in a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
