The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in commercial and construction litigation at a top law firm or in-house with a large homebuilding and land development company. Strong knowledge of legal issues in the homebuilding, land development, and construction industry is a must, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and handle a high volume of work. The Litigation Counsel will report to the General Counsel and will supervise and manage pre-litigation, Chapter 558, and litigation matters in all Divisions. They will also handle regulatory agency complaints and represent Mattamy Homes in interactions and disputes with customers, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Other responsibilities include supporting day-to-day litigation case management, assisting with customer care and warranty legal issues, and reviewing and drafting trade partner agreements, vendor agreements, and insurance requirements. The position may require travel to various company offices and locations in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and North Carolina, as well as internationally (Canada).
