Job Title: International Legal Fellow
Organization: International Legal Foundation (ILF)
Experience: 5+ years in criminal defense and legal aid work

Salary Information:
- Volunteer/pro bono position
- Transportation, housing, and a small monthly stipend provided based on minimum weekly hour commitment and fellowship duration

Program Details:
- Provide training and capacity building to local lawyers and legal aid providers in developing and transitional legal systems
- Mentoring includes day-to-day, case-by-case assistance
- Opportunities in Kenya, Myanmar, Tunisia, with future opportunities in Georgia and Nepal
- Remote opportunities available with relevant cultural or legal experience
- ILF staff will prepare Fellows on relevant law, practice, and country context
- Fellows will work and live abroad for approximately 90 days, traveling between several offices within a country

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in criminal defense and providing quality legal representation to indigent accused
- Expertise in youth justice, gender justice, civil and administrative legal aid, refugee and migrant issues, Sharia Law or progressive prosecution a plus
- Applied litigation skills to address systemic injustices or widespread violations of rights
- Experience training, supervising, or mentoring lawyers
- Experience managing a legal aid office or public defender training department desirable
- Language skills in Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Georgian, Nepali or French a strong plus
