A law firm in Washington, ., is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in a litigation environment, and recent law school graduates who have taken the Bar examination will also be considered. This role involves working under the general supervision of the principals of the firm and assisting in all phases of trial and appellate work, from initial case preparation through trial and appeal. The candidate must be an active/current member of the District of Columbia Bar, and additional Bar memberships (., Virginia and/or Maryland) are preferred. Desired candidates should possess law review or journal experience, judicial clerkships, excellent writing and research skills, and the ability to analyze and manage case files with an emphasis on planning and providing creative solutions. Knowledge of general legal principles in contracts, torts, constitutional law, evidence, court procedures, and legal discovery is essential. The candidate should communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and be able to organize workloads, prioritize tasks, and work under strict deadlines and in the pressures of the litigation environment.

Duties:

  • Assist in all phases of trial and appellate work, from initial case preparation through trial and appeal.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and assist in case development.
  • Work under the general supervision of the firm's principals.
  • Analyze and manage case files, providing creative solutions to resolve cases.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Organize workloads, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Maintain knowledge of general legal principles, court procedures, and legal discovery.

Requirements:
