Nationwide®, a Fortune 100 insurance company, is seeking a self-motivated and organized Senior Trial Attorney to join our Legal team in Pennsylvania. We are looking for someone with prior insurance defense experience in personal lines bodily injury, home-owners liability, first party property, subrogation, commercial premises liability, or commercial auto.

As a Senior Trial Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases, ranging in complexity and severity, throughout all courts and agencies in the assigned jurisdiction(s). You will be expected to maintain a highly productive case volume, utilizing your trial advocacy skills and legal acumen to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate expertise in trial advocacy as lead counsel or part of a team
- Utilize technology and collaborate with support staff for efficient case management
- Stay informed of changes in the law, technology, and industry trends
- Provide sound opinions on case valuations and maintain strong communication with clients and claims
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with key associates and colleagues
- Serve as a mentor for junior attorneys and NTD staff
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to the Managing Trial Attorney.

Education and Experience:

- Active license in the state of Pennsylvania
- More than 8 years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

- Significant litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly collaborative and able to work with staff and other attorneys
- Skilled in negotiation, processing information, and analytical thinking
- Resourceful and able to adapt to changes in the law and technology
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Leadership skills for motivating, problem-solving, and business development
- Familiarity with ethical rules and corporate policies
