Job Title: ERISA Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Denver, CO is seeking an ERISA Associate Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel on employee benefit plans, including retirement, health, and executive compensation matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of various employee benefit plans.
  • Educate clients on legislative and regulatory developments affecting employee benefits and assist in developing compliant solutions.
  • Draft and interpret defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, and other retirement-related documents.
  • Consult on legal issues about health and welfare plans, including ACA compliance, COBRA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Design, draft, and consult on executive compensation arrangements, severance plans, and executive equity plans.
  • Assist clients with matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and PBGC.
  • Provide advice on benefit plan issues arising in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Develop new client relationships and expand business contacts within the industry.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Colorado or eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in qualified retirement plans, employee benefits in mergers and acquisitions, ESOPs, executive compensation, fringe benefits, and/or health and welfare plans.
  • Experience with ESOPs and executive compensation arrangements is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial mindset, and a commitment to exemplary client service.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an inclusive, diverse work environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in Colorado or the ability to waive into the Colorado Bar.
