Job Title: Senior Litigation Attorney
Location: St. Louis, MO

HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney for its Chicago-based insurance coverage practice. This position is open for remote work from either the firm's St. Louis or Edwardsville offices, and requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in first-party insurance coverage litigation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of first-party insurance coverage, with an emphasis on property insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with management of a thriving insurance coverage practice, with cases throughout the Midwest
- Oversee junior associates on assigned files
- Actively handle defense and prosecution of coverage matters from case inception through trial
- Conduct depositions and examinations under oath
- Provide legal research and author coverage opinions to claims adjusting personnel and in-house counsel
- Defend coverage and extracontractual liability matters in state and federal courts
- Oversee and advise on property insurance appraisals

Requirements:

- Licensure in both the State of Illinois and the . District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, or other applicable federal district court
- Minimum of 5 years of first-party coverage experience
- Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to supervise junior associates, manage files, and report directly to clients
- Writing samples, including deposition transcripts and motions, must be provided prior to interview
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Must be able to travel to the Chicago office
