Job Description:

As an Immigration Attorney at JFCS, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of immigrants and refugees in the Greater Pittsburgh region. Your role will involve providing legal consultations and representation to clients, with a focus on refugee clients. You will work closely with other departments within JFCS to ensure clients receive the necessary support and resources. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal consultations and representation to clients in all types of applications before USCIS and the Department of State
- Represent refugees with family reunification applications
- Coordinate services and referrals for clients with other JFCS departments and partners
- Stay updated on changes in immigration law and inform clients of any potential impacts on their cases
- Network with stakeholders and partner agencies to provide educational presentations and represent the JFCS Immigration Legal Services Department
- Maintain accurate and timely case information in JFCS case management software
- Provide supervision and support to legal staff, interns, and pro bono attorneys
- Attend legal department meetings, JFCS agency-wide meetings, and participate in professional development and training opportunities

Requirements:

- Licensed attorney in good standing, admitted to practice in the United States
- Culturally sensitive and able to provide trauma-informed services to clients
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and prioritize deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using interpreters to communicate with clients
- Familiarity with immigration law and processes
