A law firm in Omaha is seeking a qualified Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions. Experience involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs, as well as advocacy before state utility commissions and power transactions, is highly beneficial.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Work on matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs and organized power markets.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions and handle power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Utilize strong academic and legal skills to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with a team and demonstrate superior judgment.
  • Articulate legal strategies and courses of action clearly.
  • Maintain an active Bar license in the state.

 

Requirements:

Active Bar license in the state.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

 

Skills:

  • Experience handling regulatory and compliance matters before energy regulatory commissions.
  • Knowledge of matters involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs and organized power markets.
  • Advocacy experience before state utility commissions.
  • Strong academic record and legal skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Effective project management skills.
