As a Tax Manager, you will have the opportunity to use your specialized education in accounting and taxation to apply professional independent judgment and skepticism while overseeing accountants. Key Responsibilities: - Effectively plan and manage multiple engagements simultaneously, delegating and supervising associates while maintaining operations and revenue. - Prepare federal and state corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns, exercising professional judgment to identify and resolve tax issues. - Conduct thorough research on complex tax matters and provide recommendations to clients. - Analyze tax costs and liabilities, preparing documentation to support tax reporting for federal, state, and foreign taxes. - Set achievable revenue goals and utilize business development strategies to track opportunities and wins. - Identify and mitigate areas of risk, ensuring quality control procedures are executed. - Manage and develop team members through coaching, decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Additional Responsibilities: - Proactively participate in professional development opportunities and stay current on tax laws and regulations. - Contribute to articles and media for the firm's newsletters and industry publications. - Assist with recruiting and identifying quality candidates. - Work beyond standard hours during busy season and travel to client sites when necessary. - Ability to work in the office at least three days a week. - Other responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Tax from an accredited college or university. - CPA license required. - Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP. - 5+ years of relevant public accounting experience preferred. - Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with ProSystem Fx Engagement Tax, CCH Axcess, BNA Online, Sureprep, and Go File Room a plus. - Knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and ASC 740 tax provision. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Effective time management, organizational, and analytical abilities. - Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments. - Ability to work well under pressure and with a team. - Strong technical skills in tax preparation, review, compliance, agency correspondence, and research.
