Summary:

Wilson Elser is seeking a Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Jackson, MS. The firm is a full-service and leading defense litigation law firm with over 1,000 attorneys and 42 offices across the United States and London. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of defense litigation experience, with experience in areas such as insurance defense, general liability, trucking and transportation, and complex litigation. A JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Mississippi are required.

Responsibilities for this position include independently managing a caseload, working closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects, handling court appearances and depositions, and communicating with clients and providing status reports. Qualifications:

- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in Mississippi
- 6+ years of defense litigation experience
- Experience in insurance defense, general liability, trucking and transportation, and complex litigation preferred
- Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions
- Experience with court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus
- Superior communication, writing, and research skills
- Legal project management experience helpful
