The OAG is seeking an Assistant Attorney General IV to join the Civil Medicaid Fraud Division and engage in the exciting and fulfilling work of investigating and evaluating whistleblower lawsuits filed under the Texas Medicaid Fraud Prevention Act. This position offers a salary range of $7, - $9, per month and requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, three years of full-time litigation experience as a licensed attorney, and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

H1: Join the OAG as an Assistant Attorney General IV in the Civil Medicaid Fraud Division
H2: Investigate and Evaluate Whistleblower Lawsuits and Make a Positive Difference in the Lives of Texans

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Initiate and conduct Civil Medicaid Fraud and related investigations
- Analyze factual and legal issues and develop evidence for pursuit of Civil Medicaid Fraud cases
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies, as well as other state governments
- Conduct witness interviews and utilize other methods of discovery
- Review data and data trends
- Negotiate potential settlements
- Monitor ongoing litigation to protect the State’s interests
- Draft memoranda and case recommendations for management and Executive Administration
- Engage in limited to moderate motion practice in federal and state courts
- Draft legal briefs and prepare for court hearings
- Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Three years of full-time litigation experience as a licensed attorney
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Sound judgment and effective decision making abilities
- Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Familiarity with legal review software and conducting legal analysis involving complex statutory and regulatory schemes
