A law firm in Baltimore is seeking a Worker's Compensation Attorney with experience in insurance defense, workers' compensation, and/or personal injury law. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Maryland workers' compensation laws and regulations and be capable of handling employer liability claims.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation to employers and insurance companies in workers' compensation and employer liability matters.
  • Handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases, including investigation, negotiation, and litigation.
  • Conduct legal research on Maryland workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance adjusters.
  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with other team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to the Maryland State Bar.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Washington, DC, is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience practicing worker's compensation and employers' liability law.
  • Experience with insurance defense or personal injury law is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Maryland workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
