Axis Capital, a leading provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance, is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced individual to contribute to a best practices claim environment and make a significant impact on the company's success.

As a Senior Claims Specialist at AXIS, you will be responsible for reviewing claims, determining coverage, and managing the claim process from start to finish. This role requires a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week in the office, and can be based in any of AXIS' office locations including Alpharetta, GA, New York City, Berkeley Heights, NJ, and Princeton, NJ.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review claims to determine nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of claim
- Thoroughly document the claim process in a best practices environment
- Evaluate, reserve, and manage assigned claims in a timely manner
- Investigate potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate action
- Make recommendations for settlement/disposition of claims
- Identify opportunities for contribution, subrogation, and contribution to the claim
- Prepare required reports for senior management
- Attend mediations or settlement conferences as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Juris Doctorate degree, MBA, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 7-10 years of related experience handling claims in a primary commercial casualty insurance environment
- Supervisory experience or perspective
- Experience handling New York Labor Law, Product Liability, and Complex litigation claims
- Proficient in independently analyzing coverage and drafting coverage correspondence
- Claims adjuster license required, with valid adjusting licenses in required states and additional states as needed
- Minimum of 3-5 years of general liability claim adjusting experience
- Experience or exposure to handling commercial general liability claims on behalf of a syndicate, insurance company, broker, loss adjuster, or solicitor
- Comfortable with remote and work from home virtual working practices and platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of individual and group performance metrics and KPIs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and SharePoint
- Availability for occasional travel post current environmental conditions
- Strong team player with a positive outlook, flexibility, organization, efficiency, and timeliness

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is currently expected to be $105K-125K in GA, $125K-160K in NY, and $120K-150K in NJ. The specific salary offer will be based on the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
