The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of previous experience as a criminal defense attorney and possess strong knowledge of family law procedures and regulations. The Criminal Defense Attorney will play a vital role in representing clients in all stages of felony and misdemeanor litigation, including appeals, hearings, and negotiations. Duties:

  • Represent clients in felony and misdemeanor litigation across the state for adults and juveniles.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memorandums, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct witness interviews and gather evidence to support cases.
  • Organize and maintain case files and documents.
  • Communicate with potential new clients, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Schedule appointments and manage your calendar effectively.
  • Attend court hearings, argue cases, and participate in mediations.
  • Negotiate and settle cases on behalf of clients.
  • Assist Managing Attorney in federal court criminal litigation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Previous experience (2-5 years) working as a criminal defense attorney.
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Minnesota.
