The role requires an active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States and 4+ years of law experience. The Senior Counsel will review and analyze moderately complex challenges, manage highly complex claims and litigation, and provide guidance to internal clients on legal matters. They will also draft complex legal documents, review and negotiate documents prepared by outside counsel, and independently resolve moderately complex issues. The role involves identifying and analyzing complex legal issues, developing conclusions and recommendations, and developing the strategic direction for certain claims functions and management of related policies and procedures. The Senior Counsel will educate, train, and supervise less experienced attorneys within the Legal department, collaborate with peers and colleagues, and work directly with business clients to develop an understanding of business unit activities and products. They will also partner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programs. Desired qualifications for this role include the ability to analyze employment law and regulatory issues, experience providing counsel and guidance regarding complex employment law issues, and in-house legal experience. The Senior Counsel should also have experience with FINRA matters and handling state and federal employment law matters of all types. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a complex environment are also important qualifications.
