Core Tax Associate - Winter 2025 (Baltimore) at BDO: A Career with Impact and Value

Job Summary:

The Core Tax Associate at BDO is responsible for assisting with the preparation of tax returns and research, utilizing their educational background, communication and organizational skills. This role involves utilizing basic research skills and working with tax software applications to complete simple tax returns for review.

Job Duties:

- Tax Compliance
- ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals
- Tax Consulting
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor's degree in another focus area and CPA certification required
- Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
- Accounting-based internship preferred
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams; progress towards admission to practice in a . jurisdiction; progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment preferred
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions as directed
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Takes appropriate actions without being asked
- Seeks advice of appropriate superiors regarding issues related to compliance
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns

Salary Information:

Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined based on various factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The following salary ranges are provided as a guide:

- California: $75,000 - $82,000
- Colorado: $56,000 - $68,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $72,000 - $78,000
- Washington: $65,500 - $75,000
