CLS is seeking skilled and committed attorneys to fill six staff attorney positions in its Family Unit, providing holistic and client-centered legal advocacy for domestic violence survivors seeking restraining orders. These positions are located in Waterbury, Willimantic, Bridgeport, and Stamford's family court.

Job Title: Family Attorney

Job Description:
- Maintain an active caseload of representation and advice cases
- Regularly appear in court and/or administrative hearings
- Conduct community outreach remotely and in-person
- Coordinate with other social service agencies working with clients
- Help identify larger trends and issues for clients and develop strategies to respond to them

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to advocacy for low-income, vulnerable, and marginalized communities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to write persuasively and clearly
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work independently when necessary
- Creativity and flexibility in problem solving
- Admission to the Connecticut bar or ability to be sworn in
- Experience in or connections to low-income communities and communities of color
- Knowledge of relevant substantive and procedural law, including courtroom practice and family law

Start Date: As soon as possible

Compensation: Salary range of $61,362-$120,584, depending on experience. Excellent vacation/leave, health, and other benefits.
