A law firm based in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Associate Attorney with expertise in executive compensation, qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and employee benefits for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of prior law firm experience in the employee benefits area.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on executive compensation arrangements, including nonqualified and equity-based plans.
  • Draft and review documents related to qualified retirement plans, such as 401(k) plans and pension plans.
  • Advise clients on health and welfare benefit plans, including compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of employee benefits programs for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
  • Stay updated on changes in employee benefits laws and regulations and communicate potential impacts to clients.
  • Represent clients in employee benefits-related negotiations and legal proceedings.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 4-6 years of prior law firm experience in the employee benefits area.
  • Strong understanding of executive compensation, qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and employee benefits for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, and the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

JD from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations.
  • Strong drafting and review skills.
